…the birth of our baby boy – Aidan Gupta (his full name is Aidan Taylor Aulick Gupta) on March 16. And, therefore, you may not hear from me for a while. Or….I may be posting more frequently as I am up in the middle of the night rocking this kid back to sleep with my computer on my lap.
FYI - we chose Aidan both because we thought it was a nice-sounding name and in honor of Aidan of Lindisfarne; thus, he will ever remind us of our wonderful years here in the northeast of England. Speaking from experience, there is nothing better than doing Ph.D. work and having a kiddo. You can get academically beat up all day, come home and see how excited they are to see you — and everything becomes perfect.

Congrats–we have 3 and 1 year old boys and are happy. He’ll be sleeping 6 hours or so 8-10 weeks and life will become more humane again.
